Description: Completely Renovated-1966 Safari 22′ AIRSTREAM

This 1966 Safari 22′ AIRSTREAM was stripped down to the bare shell. Then rebuilt 100% so it has: new wiring, plumbing, insulation, A/C, electrical, jack post, window gaskets, LED lighting, water tanks, propane tanks and much more!

A new 2016 Flying Cloud 23′ runs $71,000 MSRP plus tax. The aluminum shell is .040 thick. My 1966 Safari 22′ will run you $40K and is has a .032 thick shell. Yes, the “66” has thicker aluminum.

Sleeps two on a combo/split couch that converts into a queen size bed. One person can sleep while the other is seated or both sides fold down for sleeping.
Uses propane (two 30 gal. tanks on front hitch) to heat water and for cooking. Also uses either electric or gas for interior heating.

(4) ten gal. poly tanks under the front floor for fresh water
ten gal. poly tank under the rear floor for grey water
Tires, electric brakes and shocks have 3500 miles on them.
The 110watt solar panel attached to the outside front awning window charges (2) 110 amp AGM batteries which powers everything except the air conditioning. The A/C is powered either from shore power (plugged into a 115v outlet) or it runs on two- small, lightweight Yamaha generators each being 2000watts. When connected together you get 4000 watts of power for the roof mounted A/C.

Being stripped down to only the aluminum shell it has new wiring both 12volt and 120 volt, new plumbing lines, new insulation in the form of two layers. First a flexible 1/4″ layer was glued to the inner shell then a 1″ thick layer of rigid closed foam cell was installed. It is better insulated than the new Airstreams.

All outside and inside lighting is LED type. Flooring is 5/8″ T&G bamboo on top of 5/8″ sealed marine plywood. The new roof mounted A/C is a 13,500 BTU two stage unit. Inside there is small bathroom with a sink, medicine cabinet and a chemical toilet that uses water and odor tablets. It does NOT give off any odor and functions as a home toilet does with two indicators that let you know when it is full and when water needs to be added. There is a small stall shower room as well which doubles as a closet for hanging clothes. Both the shower room and bathroom have a sliding door. The pantry is located between the shower and bathroom and has four large compartments.

The REF. is a 12v under counter unit with a small freezer. The cooktop is a two burner gas unit. All furniture shown is included in the sale. There are several personal items which are not included such a framed picture, a small silver tray table and several small decorative items. All dishware, pots, pans and silverware are included.
